My story...
Hey alright! Born and raised in the Capital City, I know what Richmond wants and what Richmond needs... great classic rock tunes.
For me it's simple. Life's happiness can be found using this mathematical equation: good music + good people + good beer = good times.
For me, a good time also means hanging out at the races or taking a ride on my Harley. On top of that, nothing is more fun than joining Planet listeners on a bike ride to a concert like the Planet Ride to the Doobies and Lynyrd Skynyrd. In fact, the next time we have one, make sure you come out and ride... and if there's a lovely lady without a bike, I'd be more than happy to let you hop on my hog.
A lot of people ask why I chose radio. I simply reply, I didn't choose it, it chose me. I have had some pretty boring jobs in the past, like data entry, and it just wasn't for me. I remember listening to the radio and wishing I was on it.
So here I am! Join me evenings on 96.5 The Planet, make sure to call in a request and let's keep the party going all night long.
| Kevin Cook Recommends: The Allman Brothers Band My album pick is The Allman Brothers Band 1969 debut "The Allman Brothers Band." I love this one! This album started everything for the Brothers, and showed the world what these southern boys were all about! Gregg Sings and plays his heart out along side of his brother Duane on Tunes like "Don't want you no more/It's not my cross to bear" and "Dreams." With the southern soaked and blues laced riffs this band was definitely unique. It closes with "Whipping Post," which is an Allman Brothers live staple to this day, almost 40 years later! It's a great album with songs that have surely stood the test of time. |
