Holiday Cards Via Snail Mail
I was surprised by this. There's still some tradition left in the Holidays.
According to a spokesman for the American Greetings company, quote, "Based on all of the data that we're seeing out in the marketplace right now . . . we're actually seeing an INCREASE in the number of people reverting back to sending paper cards."
Overall, it's estimated that for every holiday e-card that's emailed or sent online, 20 paper holiday cards are mailed through the U.S. Post Office.
Even though e-cards are cheaper and easier ("cheaper and easier"... that was my senior superlative in high school) the wife and I like getting and displaying the real ones in our home. Makes it feel more like Christmas. Plus, buying and mailing a card shows you actually put some thought into it.
